SOUTH HAY, HAMPSHIRE. REPORT ON GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY, JUNE 1998

Author(s): E Bray

Following the suggestion, based on aerial photographic evidence, that a Roman Fort might be located near South Hay, Hampshire, a geophysical survey was carried out in response to a request from the Inspector of Ancient Monuments. Magnetic and resistivity surveys were applied to an area encompassing the clearest crop-mark, but due to poor soil conditions were unable to detect any significant response to indicate the presence of archaeological remains.
