36 Boroughgate, Appleby-in-Westmoreland, Cumbria, Tree-ring Analysis of Oak Timbers

Number 36 Boroughgate, situated in the town of Appleby-in-Westmoreland in Cumbria (Fig1), is a Grade II listed (LEN 1145578), three-storey house thought to be of mid-seventeenth century date. The main range is aligned roughly north-south and is of lobby entry plan. To the rear of the main range is a further north-south aligned range. The building was further altered in the nineteenth century and then again in the late-twentieth century when it was converted from the Black Bull Inn to residential use.
