In this document we describe the physical and chemical sample pretreatment procedures for the primary sample types used for radiocarbon dating in archaeological studies at the 14Chrono Centre for Climate, the Environment and Chronology, Queen’s University Belfast. We also describe the Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) 14C and EA-IRMS methods used.
